Things to know/Tips...

1[VERY IMPORTANT] Before You Fly to Colombia
***VERY IMPORTANT*** Make sure you fill out the Colombian gov. Customs Form ***ONLINE 72 HOURS OR LESS BEFORE ENTERING COLOMBIA*** THIS IS AN ENTRY REQUIREMENT AND WITHOUT THIS YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO COLOMBIA. This must be done before you arrive in Colombia since when you arrive you may not have WiFi or internet connection to do so. This cannot be done more than 72 hours in advance...72 hors or less before your flight only (it will not let you do it too early)

Go to this website and fill out the "CHECK-MIG" questionnaire: "CHECK-MIG" HERE https://apps.migracioncolombia.gov.co/pre-registro/public/preregistro.jsf

***VERY IMPORTANT*** EXITING COLOMBIA.......you will need to do the exact same thing before you fly out 78hrs or less before your departure flight. Without this proof of completion you will not be able to fly out and you may not have reliable Wifi or internet connection at the airport to get it done there, so please remember to do it before you get to the airport. (Use the same link above)
2Covid Vaccine Proof or Covid Test if Not Vaccinated

Fully vaccinated passengers

Colombia is open to fully vaccinated passengers and they do not have to undergo quarantine or present a negative COVID-19 test result. Passengers must present proof of vaccination - The certificate/document may be requested at different points of the trip.

NOT vaccinated/NOT fully vaccinated passengers

Colombia is open to not vaccinated and not fully vaccinated passengers and they do not have to undergo quarantine but they have to present a negative COVID-19 test. 3Get The Best Exchange Rate at ATMs

We recommend taking some cash (USD) to feel secure, but most USA credit/debit cards will work just fine and you will have the best exchange rate by just paying for most things with your credit/debit card when possible.

Always have Colombian Pesos in your pocket for small amounts, street vendors, tips, and such for when you can't pay with your credit/debit.. To get Colombian Pesos at the best exchange rate, we recommend going to any ATM and simply taking cash out of the ATM with your USA card. Most ATM let you take the equivalent of $100 USD out at a time and you can use the same ATM multiple times as needed. We recommend this ATM inside the Walled City:

Pro Tip: When you arrive at the airport, go right outside the airport doors outside by the taxi waiting area and use the Currency Exchange House right there to exchange a few Dollars (enough to pay the taxi to your hotel and to last you a few hours before you can get to an ATM later on). This Exchange place right outside is cheaper than the one inside the airport. FYI: taxis to the hotel area should be right around $10 from the airport and any Yellow Taxi with a big registration number on it should be safe to take you there.

5Transportation.... UBER is illegal, do not use it
Taxis are extremely cheap and UBER is illegal in Colombia. Use the Yellow Taxis that have huge numbers on the side panels....these are the officially registered taxis that cost around $2 to $5 to get you around most sites. Just show the driver a pin location on your phone and ask how much since they don't have a meter.
